Advertising costs money, and neither Wally Monk nor www.comic-watch.com are employees or affiliates of Ollie’s Discount Outlets. But if you live in one of the 20 US states that has an Ollie’s, go and buy some DC trade paperbacks and hardcovers for up to 85% off.
I’m not one to write about advertisements. Advertising space is something that is paid for by companies wanting to sell products. But in some cases, an advertisement is far too good not to check out, or even to promote for free. We’re not talking about Black Friday sales here or bait-and-switch. I’m putting fingers to keyboard to tell you to get to Ollie’s and to get there fast. When you’ve loaded up your cart with hundreds of dollars worth of graphic novels, thank Comic Watch that you paid less than $20.
According to their own advertisement:
“Ollie’s has saved the day for all fans of DC Comics – from the beginner to the collector. We purchased 19 truckloads of hard-covers, soft-covers, archived editions and more. Our price ranges will be from $1.99 to $12.99. We have Superman, Batman, Justice League of America, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash and much, much more. New truckloads arriving daily!”
Here are some pictures from a trip this week to the Ollie’s Discount Outlet in Gallatin, Tennessee:
Ollie’s has 268 locations in 20 different US states. You can find them on Google, and their website has a store locator to see if there is an Ollie’s near you.
This writer picked up DC Showcase editions of Amythest, Princess of Gemworld, The War that Time Forgot, and Blue Beetle. Total price? $10.97 plus tax.
Do you have an Ollie’s near you? If so, what were your prize pickups?
