It’s an exciting time right now to be in the tabletop roleplaying games space, especially this week. Here are some quick news that you may have missed.

Sweet Revenge, the first official campaign book for the indie tabletop roleplaying game Perils & Princesses by Outrider Creative, launched its Kickstarter on July 16th, 2024. With a fundraising goal of $3,000, Sweet Revenge was fully funded in less than 24 hours, and at the time of this article, has raised almost $15,000.

You can back Sweet Revenge on Kickstarter until Thursday, August 15th with the option to purchase the core rulebook of Perils & Princesses.
Candela Obscura Games Week

From July 26th through August 1st, Darrington Press will be hosting their inaugural Candela Obscura Games Week. During this week, Darrington Press will provide a number of resources for gameplay to the community, such as new character and circle sheets, pregen characters, and ways to find Candela Obscura games running during this event.
Released in 2023, Candela Obscura is a paranormal horror tabletop roleplaying game set in the fictional world of Newfaire, a city in the region of Faireland. Players take the role of characters who are part of the secret organization, Candela Obscura, to investigate and fight against forces from a realm beyond theirs. These mysterious and dangerous creatures somehow infiltrated their world through thinnings of The Flare, the magickal boundary that separates the characters’ world and the beyond. The cast and guests of Critical Role produced a series of actual plays of Candela Obscura.
You can find a Candela Obscura game to play at a Darrington Press guild store, in Darrington Press’ Discord server, on Roll20, or through Demiplane Matchmaking (by the way, you can create a Candela Obscura character on Demiplane for free). You may also find some third-parties Candela Obscura resources and materials, such as new Circle & Assets from DM Rawlings, or a Candela Obscura one-shot on Kickstarter, Blackout, from creator Andie Margolskee.
D&D In A Castle Hits The U.S.

Another inaugural event is happening this month. D&D In A Castle, described as the “premiere D&D vacation,” is hosting their first-ever U.S. based event at the Mohican Castle in Ohio. The 5-day event has attendees play an intensive game of Dungeons & Dragons with a professional Dungeon Master, participate in fantasy-related events such as archery and feasts, all taking place in a castle to give the ultimate immersive experience.
Started in 2017 by siblings Cameron and Tara Rout, D&D In A Castle hosted its first event in 2018 in France and has grown in success and popularity. Since then, the company has hosted multiple events a year, featured guests such as D&D Lead Game Designer Jeremy Crawford and YouTuber Ginny Di as Dungeon Masters, and expanded new events called “D&D Weekend”.
There are two more D&D In A Castle events being held at Mohican Castle in August, as well two more events at Lumley Castle in the U.K. in the fall.
Deadpool One-Shot Drops Into The Multiverse

With a comic-story lead in by renowned comics writer Cullen Bunn (Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe, Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, Lobo), Marvel released the one-shot adventure Deadpool Role-Plays The Marvel Universe on Tuesday, July 16th. Played as part of the Marvel Multiverse Roleplaying Game, this one-shot will also include new character profiles such as Hit-Monkey, She-Hulk (Lyra), Wolverine (Logan) and more! The game will also be available on the digital tabletop roleplaying game platform, Demiplane.
Marvel Multiverse Roleplaying Game was released in 2023 and was designed by Matt Forbeck. The roleplaying game uses its own unique system, called d616 Roleplaying System, and allows players to either create their own character in the Marvel Universe or play an existing one so they can be their favorite superhero. It uses a 3d6 dice pool where one die is the “Marvel” die. This core rulebook is available to purchase at your local game store, Roll20, and Demiplane.
