Skybound is searching for the next great animator, according to a new story from The Hollywood Reporter. The outlet is reporting that the Comic Publisher/Multimedia company, Skybound, is planning to launch a reality show in its quest. The Robert Kirkman founded company will team with DIGA Studios, a production house known for unscripted shows like Big Trick Energy, Hot Ones: The Game Show, and The Kelly Cutrone Project. This move will mark Skybound’s growing interest in both animation and unscripted TV.
The company previously purchased Spike & Mike’s Festival of Animation, which it is relaunching in 2025 and recently placed Brent Jacoby as head of Skybound’s unscripted division. Invincible, the well-received Amazon series is one of Skybound’s flagship titles, setting the precedent for animated adaptations of its titles.
It’s possible more information will be revealed at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con, as Skybound and the Spike & Mike’s Festival are both set to have a presence at the show. Stay tuned to Comic Watch for more updates about Skybound.
