Comic Watch Review: DC X AEW #1: Let's Get Ready To Rumble
The Big Galactic Belt rests on Lex Luthor’s waist — with a snap, he can remix reality to his whim. With the Justice League and AEW’s most iconic wrestlers spread across the globe, locked in battle with the DC Universe’s most notorious villains, it’s a race against time to stop Lex before he locks in his control of Earth.
As the stakes skyrocket by the second, a challenge is issued — for all its power, the Big Galactic Belt is still a championship. Once called out, its owner has no choice but to defend it. The fate of reality comes down to a tornado tag match!

Review
DC X AEW #2 completes this crossover between the DCU and AEW wrestlers. Having this story be only two issues works well and doesn’t mean there is a lot of filler or fluff subplots that have to be tied up in the ending. This issuw is fairly straightforward, feeling more like a story is taking place unlike the first issue which felt like a bunch snapshots of the different DCU / AEW characters as they went after the pieces of the Championship Belt.
This issue also drops the usage of Excalibur and Booster Gold as the commentators as the narrative device, making this second installment feel more like a crossover event allowing the characters more interaction and to explore how the wrestlers and heroes play off of each other. The story feels a bit choppy at times as Orlando doesn’t get to give some of the partners time to gel. Batman and Darby have the most drawn out scenes feel a bit stiff at times as it seems that Batman and AEW partner lack the chemistry to sell the scene.
It seems that Orlando, at times, forces the dialogue and events, but at the same time, reads like one would expect from watching the storylines that are played out in the real world between the wrestlers as they entertain the crowds of fans throught the world.
Bringing the different elements of the DCU lore such as the New Gods and Motherboxes is a nice touch that brings a larger cosmic feel to the story and provides a device for a reasonable conclusion.
Final Thoughts
DC X AEW #2 completes the an interesting and entertaining experiment of bringing these two worlds together while showing the love and respect that the team of Steve Orlando and Travis Mercer both have for wrestling and the DCU
