Recap

A Victorian tale of crossed star lovers, and social classes. When a maid meets a man of higher status, she doesn't think anything of it. But the man, William, sees her as kind hearted and beautiful and starts a long drawn out courtship that has stirred everyone to their core.

Review

Emma is a maid for Kelly Stownar, the former Governess of William Jones. The two being together for so long and even teaching Emma to read and write during her time as a maid with her. While working with Kelly Stownar, she meets William Jones through her when he comes to visit her after he has grown into a Lord in his family estate. The both of them meeting would be consider a “meet cute,” with her accidentally bumping him with the door when he was attempting to knock on it. This does start a long chase through William side to try and win the affections of Emma.

While the anime is a Slice of Life, a very mellow anime that allows you to watch leisurely, and the soft melody of the music that is played in the background of the scenes. Even the voice actors are very soft spoken throughout the episodes. This anime will give you a moment of reset from watching action filled and supernatural anime that we all know and love. Slice of life anime has been a cause of great movement lately, and this is one that will help you get started. Even if the anime was done back in the 2000’s.

Emma is a story that is filled with, you guessed it, misunderstandings and the block roads of different status in life between a Lord and a maid. Yet, it was still capture you into the heart of the story and you will root for them to be together no matter what road they take or who stands in their way. This story is a tale as old as time and one not to miss that is filled with unspoken romance.

Final Thoughts

Emma lighthearted anime is something to watch as you drift throughout the day, a rest from the fights of the anime we are used to watching. This slice of life anime is something to start with before moving back into the anime we already know. An anime that could be consider an introduction to slice of life anime. I wouldn't want you to miss out in such a 2000s anime that will fill you with such joy to watch during your day.
