Iron Man

Recap
Marvel Anime: Iron Man was so funny in just the right moments, and the Zodiac villains in this were so great to see. Each episode was filled with snark and anticipation, and that is always my favorite thing to see during an anime.
Review
Marvel Anime: Iron Man was a thrill to watch. It rounds out our end-of-the-month review, and I am glad I saved this one for last. Yes, there were some moments that I wasn’t happy with, primarily due to the choppy animation when he put his suit on. But then that could be overlooked during the rest of the series. The rest of the animation did justice to the show. Keeping it easy and flowing amazingly during each episode. The plot of the story was great, too. It pushed the anime forward; there wasn’t a moment in this one that made you want to pull away.
The voice actor who played Tony Stark, Adrian Pasdar (Heroes), did an amazing job portraying him. So spot on with Tony’s snark and sarcasm. He had me giggling half the time with Tony’s lines. You would expect the episode to drag slightly during this time, but it never came to that. Each episode gave you a moment where you could see the story unfolding. There were sides of Tony that I enjoyed watching. Especially during episode 3, that one embodied Tony’s change in wanting to be a better person after what happened to him. It’s an episode that I watch on repeat because of how he was portrayed in it.
The rest of the episodes didn’t fall but rose to the plot, ensuring you kept yourself rooted in the story.
The other characters were lively in this one, too. I never got tired of the secondary characters they had. They enriched the story with their personalities. There were times when I wished there had been more screen time for them. I also wanted to know who they were because their one-liners were enjoyable. I love that the secondary characters are fleshed out more than expected. It pushes the story with them and gives them a voice you never expected.
I enjoyed watching Marvel Anime: Iron Man. It gave me a better understanding of the fights and Tony’s character, even with all his sarcasm. I would watch this one again, along with the X-Men one. This had more of a story, a movement of what it really was and staying true to the Iron Man that we all know and love. I couldn’t find fault in this one other than the choppy scene of him entering his suit. Everything else was done well; it gave you exactly what you needed. It’s hard to pick apart an anime that gives you the complete package and more.
This would have also done well with a second season; it gave so much potential for one. To pull another storyline in, to create an anime adaptation of Iron Man. I will add this to my top ten list, and X-Men is a must-watch anime. Part of me still holds out that Madhouse will consider this and bring them back. They did do them both justice with the animation. I have my fingers crossed for sure on these two for later. But then, I’m always optimistic about shows that have faded out.
Final Thoughts
Marvel Anime: Iron Man is not one to skip over, with the plot pushing it forward, and the characters fleshed out. This is one to keep tucked in during a lazy weekend or just to enjoy with friends who enjoy superheroes and popcorn. You can catch this on YouTube for $20; they are all dubbed as well.
