Morbius: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!

MoviesBy Rob PriceApril 2, 2022Leave a comment

Morbius

Morbius, Marvel’s latest endeavor, if taken as its own self-contained movie, isn’t bad, I have seen a lot worse. But when you set it up next to the other films in the franchise, it is just a hard comparison, and it does not fare well.

Moon Knight: Spector Of The Moon

Television ShowsBy Rob PriceMarch 30, 2022Leave a comment

Moon Knight

As the first episode of Moon Knight unfolds, the audience experiences the same confusion that Steven / Marc is experiencing. We are given enough exposition to understand that Steven knows something is wrong but kept ignorant to what exactly it is.

Decades-1980s: The 80’s Called, They Want Their Sword Back!

Movies, Television Shows, UncategorizedBy Rob PriceMarch 27, 2022Leave a comment

If you are a fan of the Sword and Sorcery subgenre of fantasy films, the 1980s was a good decade to grow up in, like I did.  There was a lavishness to a lot of these productions that gave them something magical (pun intended) and epic.

Halo: Just Killing It

Television ShowsBy Rob PriceMarch 25, 2022Leave a comment

Halo

The storyline is intriguing with the plot being a multi layered tapestry of different factions wanting different things, all centering around the artifact and Master Chief 117.

Decades-1990: Super Women of the 90s

Movies, Television Shows, UncategorizedBy Rob PriceMarch 20, 2022Leave a comment

More and more action series are highlighting women as leads without losing their femininity and allowing men to have more emotional complexity, while still retaining a sense of masculinity.

DMZ: Is This Our Future?

Television ShowsBy Rob PriceMarch 18, 2022Leave a comment

DMZ

You could say that the show is very “timely”, as it is very easy to imagine a near future where the United States of America finds itself in a such a situation.  There is a definite a feeling of unrest in the country

The Hyperions: Earn Your Badge!

MoviesBy Rob PriceMarch 13, 2022Leave a comment

The Hyperions

The Hyperions, focuses more on the disfunction between the family members of the first team’s members than on action and adventure. Each character has their own issues and desires leading them to the current situation.

Buffy, the Vampire Slayer: 25 Years of Vamping!

Television Shows, UncategorizedBy Rob PriceMarch 12, 2022Leave a comment

…it’s Magic! I am not talking of spells and rituals, potions, or wands, but the convergence of so many aspects that go into a television program, like a big jigsaw puzzle, that the only word to describe it is… “Magic!”.

Fresh: Love Spoils so Easily

MoviesBy Rob PriceMarch 6, 2022Leave a comment

Fresh

Touted as a horror comedy, I would say it is a bit light on the comedy, with more emphasis on the “thriller” aspect with a plot twist that truly is “Fresh” and a cut above the rest.

Guardians of Justice: When Gods Die

Television ShowsBy Rob PriceMarch 5, 20221 Comment

Guardians of Justice

The plot is intriguing and presented in an interesting fashion, by using a mixture of animation, video game sequences and live action.  The editing on the series is amazing and the music choices are quite good and appropriate for the action.

Star Trek Picard: The True Final Frontier

Television ShowsBy Rob PriceMarch 4, 2022Leave a comment

Star Trek: Picard

Picard (Patrick Stewart) conjectures that the final frontier is not space, but time.  I don’t think he meant to infer traveling through time as an explorer, but more to take the time to explore the moment, as there are no true second chances.

Severance: Separate Lives

Television ShowsBy Rob PriceFebruary 27, 2022Leave a comment

Severance

The production value is good and the base story is intriguing.  The acting was all very well done, but I just didn’t connect with any of the characters. I am undecided if I want to give episode two a try.  Maybe my “work self” will like it better.
