From the very start of this show, the music lets you know that this is going to be a glorious romp around the world. In addition, the use of the sound of a ticking clock in several scenes, added to the notion that not only is time ticking away on the bet, but that Phileas’ very life has been ticking away too.

With the past episodes having such high stakes, it was nice to get a more fun, lighthearted romp showcasing what Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor does best. With a kind of manic wit and adventurous spirit, the Doctor runs around trying to make sure everyone survives, and for the most part, succeeds.

We don’t really see the riots; we don’t see a lot of people dying. We see crowds at hospitals, and we hear the news on television talking about it. But the episode was really all about introducing the two main characters. Jeevan and Kirstin.

The casting of this film is amazing, with several Oscar winners and box office draws. But this isn’t “that” type of science fiction movie. This is not Deep Impact or Armageddon. This is a satirical comedy looking at our government, with some very subtle and not so subtle caricatures of people in our current political system.

The story has love, laughter, magic, action and tones of swordplay and battles with monsters. The dialogue is clever and well written and the music adds to the tone of each scene, doing what music is supposed to do and enhance the action and performances of the series.
