MoviesBy Rob PriceOctober 2, 2021Leave a comment

The Addams Family 2

To the outsider, looking in, the family seems crazy and kooky, but to the Addams’, they are the normal ones and everyone else it insane. The juxtaposition of what is good and evil, normal and abnormal is where most of the humor lies.

Old

The idea of growing older, going through puberty in a matter of hours and having all the emotions related to coming of age, but not having the learned knowledge or experience to deal with such feelings was an interesting theme.

Y: The Last Man

The world, of late, is a troubled place and I want to believe that if a global catastrophe occurred, the remaining human race would step up and fill the void left by those who died. But this show holds up a mirror to what would probably really happen.

What If…?

Michael did a wonderful job recreating his roll.  You can still feel in his voice the very need to avenge his fathers death and free his people from suppression.

Malignant: Cut the Cancer Out

Malignant

Malignant has a great mystery to be solved, but even more than that, it has a very special energy and a very outside the box, over the top story.

What If…?

The What If… series allows the show to dip into many different genres. Captain Carter is a 1940s serial, the Dr. Strange episode was a tragic love story, and now we can add “classic horror” to the list, and it is done quite well.

Television ShowsBy Rob PriceSeptember 4, 2021Leave a comment

What If…?

The emotions in the episode are powerful and you feel for the main character as he tries to deal with his grief. The show makes us address tragedy and how we deal with loss. We end up asking ourselves, what would we do to bring back the ones we love or undo our saddest, most tragic moments.

Continuing with the extremely high quality, episode 3 of the What If… series remains impressive. Before Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) can attempt to recruit the avengers, all the heroes that were on the possible roster begin to die.

The Green Knight

There is a great arthouse quality to it, and the music is phenomenal adding a great ambiance.  The sets and costumes are all wonderfully presented.  There are some great themes they tackle.  Like living honorably and how we face death.

Reminiscence: Neon Neo-Noir

MoviesBy Rob PriceAugust 21, 2021Leave a comment

Reminiscence

Like an old Bogart movie, Nick narrates the film with a somber dark tone reminiscent of Sam Spade in the Maltese Falcon, and Mae is the classic “Femme Fatale”. The dialogue has a classic rhythm to it and even the costumes seem to allude to the 1940s.
