GenCon, the largest gaming convention in North America, is the place for gaming publishers to participate in if they want gamers to know and learn more about the games that they are putting out into the market. The list of exhibitors includes not only large gaming publishers such as Wizards Of The Coast, Ravensburger, Darrington Press, Gamewright, and Hasbro, but also smaller companies or publishers who are brand new to the gaming industry.
One of those companies, Dead Alive Games, had a booth at GenCon to show off three of the games that they had designed and developed, selling copies of these games at the convention. The two-person team, Brendan Kendrick and Bernie Lin, created the company in 2018 after Brendan shared an idea he had for a game with Bernie. Their gaming brand is creating “skirmish games,” and they couldn’t be more excited about what they’re doing in the industry.
I had a chance to interview one of the co-owners, Brendan, to talk about their company and the games they were promoting at GenCon.
