McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Review: Wonder Woman is Here

The Trinity is Complete

She’s known as Diana Prince of Themyscira, Wonder Woman, and now one of the top toys of 2023 end/beginning 2024. After years of fans waiting and asking, a proper classic looking Wonder Woman figure is in stores and selling out—fast.

Since McFarlane Toys made a deal to make DC Comics toys in 2019, there have been many versions of Wonder Woman ranging from Batman: Last Knight on Earth to Death Metal. While they have each had their respective pros and cons, a version that is classic and sits well among her rightful place in any collectors “Justice League” toy shelf has been vacant.

Released as part of the “Collector’s Edition,” this iteration of Wonder Woman not only has the classic look, but plenty of accessories such as multiple hands, her sword and shield, the lasso of truth, and a battle axe. It’s everything a warrior princess needs and for collectors, this means almost unlimited options to pose with other heroes (or against villains).

The box itself is incredibly well done and different from the standard narrower McFarlane Toys boxes—but this also comes with the heftier price tag ($29.99 to $39.99 as of this article) as the accessories, card and card stand are all premium.

As a figure itself, fans and toy collectors just need to know that it is awesome and a great version of the legacy DC Comics character. (Seriously, I can’t think of any actual flaw.) There are the typical McFarlane posing options—that is decent but isn’t what you would get compared to a higher priced figure, however, I would argue many fans are just grateful to have an Amazon to represent one of the key women characters in the DC Comics roster.

Over the past year, characters such as Batwoman, Raven, Supergirl, and more have been produced, but this Wonder Woman is hopefully a milestone release that is a sign of possibilities in a largely male dominated roster of characters.

The team may have knocked it out of the park with this release, but characters such as Huntress, Zatanna, or Big Barda (fingers crossed) are visibly missing from the DC Multiverse line. I mentioned earlier that the Collectors Edition of Wonder Woman is selling out fast, and it’s for good reason. Fans have been vocally happy with this iteration and stores such as Amazon have put it as one of the #1 toys for sale (although she sells out quickly).

So yes, this figure is awesome but fans are ready for more. If some floating speculations are to be believed, McFarlane Toys may just be getting started. If you see her in store or online for basic MSRP, don’t wait—you won’t regret it.

Cape not included.
