The New York Comic Con returned last weekend bringing with it everything the San Diego Comic Con brought back in July but for the east coast crowd. There was comic book news….The Young Avengers are returning in 2019! There was TV news….Terry Pratchett’s “Good Omens” will be streaming to you soon, featuring David Tennet! There was movie news….with Aquaman splashing his way into cinemas just in time for Christmas. And, of course, my favorite part…the collectibles! Previews of all the wonderful things headed your way soon plus the much sought after Comic Con Exclusives!
First up we have the Batman Cowl replicas which are already available for pre-order. These 1/2 scale beauties are very reasonably priced at only $74.99!
Also available to pre-order now is the Dark Nights Metal statue “The Merciless” which also sells for $74.99.
Joining the 1/2 scale Venom bust I previewed last time, Diamond Select Toys will be bringing you Spider-Gwen, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man and Deadpool. No release date as yet.
On the action figure front, get ready for Marvel Legends Captain Marvel with a Kree Sentry Build-A-Figure.
These Next Generation collectibles will set you back a pretty penny at $2499.00 each! Just an FYI….they aren’t real computers.
These Star Trek Discovery statues of Michael Burnham and a Klingon are a little more affordable at just $180 each.
This Hot Toys Neon Tech Iron Man is a convention exclusive. The Mark Umpteenth-something should be a must for collectors who’ve already collected the hundreds of other Iron Man suits from Hot Toys.
A preview of the X-23 statue from Sideshow which should be up for ordering now.
And, of course, no matter where you go the Funko Pops are sure to be there. Here are some shared convention exclusives. I would advise you to swoop in and grab that Okoye Pop since the original is now going for big bucks. Plus, she has that nifty wig that might fit on your Thanos Pop!
Speaking of that rat bastard Thanos who stole my Infinity Stone and almost killed me in the process….the Death Diva now has a whole set of chrome pops representing each of the Infinity Stones (including mine). These Pops are a Walmart Exclusive…which is exactly where he belongs!
On the subject of Walmart, I’ve come by a bit of news all my little collectorlings should be pleased with….beginning the week of October 15th Walmart will be setting up a Collector’s Den in 3500 of their stores across the country. This will be the exclusive brick-and-mortar retail home of Loot Crate, the subscription box service that features comic book, movie and game themes. They will also feature exclusives from Funko Pop, Macfarlane Toys and CultureFly. Funko figures will move out of the toy aisle (and the screaming little kids) to the new collectors’ area along with Macfarlane’s sports and movie figures. The Loot Crate and CultureFly boxes will cost $19.98. You’ll be able to find more info on Walmart’s Facebook page. If you missed the Infinity Stone Thanos Pops at the NYCC you’ll be able to get them at Walmart’s new collector zone. Just a word of advice…don’t wear your pajamas when you go to Walmart. It’s tacky.
