This weekend is the New York Toy Fair where toy makers roll out samples of what to look forward to over the coming year. Before the doors are open I have some huge news to report! Diamond Select Toys, whom I’ve given some high praise on their line of affordable PVC statues. Along with their resin statues such as the recently released Venom Bust, Armored Thor and Dr. Strange (Best statue winner at the Collector’s Choice Awards) statues, has purchased Gentle Giant, a long-standing company in the statue making biz.
Gentle Giant has produced not only superhero statues such as the recent set of Wolverines but has also quite a few Star Wars statues and busts as well as other properties like The Walking Dead, Sucker Punch, Star Trek, and Harry Potter. They have also collaborated with several Diamond statues.
The takeover was official on February 12th and Diamond has promised to honor Gentle Giant’s Collector’s Club commitments. I am very excited to see what the future holds for this new force in the statue industry!
