THE COLLECTOR’S CORNER Spotlight On: San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives

This year’s San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives!

The Collector’s Corner
Spotlight On: San Diego Comic-Con 2018

Each year at Comic-Con, companies release merchandise only available at the convention (with a few exceptions you can buy on-line). Often these toys, comics, action figures and things become highly sought after by collectors and if you don’t get it here you’ll find them on E-Bay going for exorbitant prices. Here are some of this year’s exclusives…

The Collector would love to add that cute little Hank Pym original Ant-Man to his collection but even an Elder of the Universe can’t get a ticket to this event at this hour. Besides, I loathe lines!

If a red and a green Incredible Hulk weren’t enough for you or a green and a red Phoenix are lonely for a white one, these Marvel Gallery repaints are just for you. Or you can get the recently released X-23 without her mask.

These Bat Man statues are by artist Chris Uminga and are Entertainment Earth Exclusives. The Black Bat Man is $100, the Flashpoint Bat Man is $75 and the blue/grey Bat Man is $60.

Mezco Toyz popular One-12 6 inch figures are offering a Punisher Special Ops figure.

Gentle Giant is offering up a Luke Skywalker 1/6th scale mini bust with light up lightsabre for $120 and a Yoda Concept bust for $100. I am so glad they didn’t go with this design! Then there is the beautiful Lt Saru bust from Star Trek Discovery for $100 and a giant size Boba Fett figure for $80.

The Hot Toys Neon Tech Iron Man from Iron Man 2 is sure to be a collector’s item and will probably cost a pretty penny too! How many different Iron Man armors is this company going to make?

And there’s a box set of Aquaman, Black Manta, and Ocean Master for $60 just in time for the Aquaman movie later this year.

Marvel has 3 variant comics for Spider-Man, X-23 and Deadpool.

Movie meister Guillermo del Toro gets his own figure which comes with a spooky book prop.

This Bat Man “Who Laughs” polystone statue is over 8 inches tall and comes with a certificate of authentication. It’s from the popular Dark Nights Metal series and is a “Joker-ized” Bat Man.

For Voltron fans, five lions transform and combine into a 16-inch robot with lights, sound effects, and 50 phrases! $129.00.

The Laughing Prince Adam action figure was actually inspired by a popular meme. He comes with a pink sword, a head sculpt based on the viral video and comes in rainbow glitter packaging. The figure is already the talk in many LGBTQ FaceBook groups!

And for those not going to Comic-Con, there’s plenty of things you can buy or pre-order now!

These Gargoyles Pops are up for pre-order. A must-have for fans of the 90s cartoon. There has been talk of late of doing a Gargoyles movie!

More Marvel Gallery PVC statues from Diamond Select Toys. A second Ant-Man, a Wasp and a Shuri statue are up for pre-order.

From Toys Era comes “The Presence”, “Lady Crimson” and “Mr Pot”…but I think we know who they really are.

Iron Studios Avengers Infinity War Battle Diorama Scene is a series of 1/10th scale statues ranging from $99 to $159 which can be assembled together to form one big ass scene! Add the Black Panther statues and make it bigger! Right now Sideshow Collectibles actually have the best prices on these guys and they offer a convenient payment plan where you can break up the price into equal monthly payments.

Diamond Select has three new Premier Collection statues of Thor Ragnarok, The First Iron Man, the Black Panther and a 1/2 scale Venom bust. The statues are $229 and the bust is only $134 at Big Bad Toy Store.
