Recap

THE PENULTIMATE CHAPTER OF THE SYMBIOTIC EVENT OF THE YEAR! Eddie Brock has taken a beating, lost the allies closest to him, and, after the shocking events of Absolute Carnage: #3, sees no way to take Cletus Kasady down once and for all without making the ultimate sacrifice. But what IS the ultimate sacrifice? Of the two beings that are bonded as Venom, which will make it out alive?

Review

Cates cranked up the action to maximum levels with Venom Hulk as just the start of the insane power ups featured in this issue.

All of the intense build up comes to a head as the tables continue to turn with mind-blowing power combinations on both sides. Just as Carnage seems nigh unstoppable, we are given a glimmer of hope leading us into what is sure to be an outstanding final issue saga of action and horror.

To avoid becoming redundant on how great the art in this book is (it’s still outstanding and perfect for the story’s tone), I wanted to take a moment to highlight the patient/prisoner files featured in the back of each issue. I feel these were an extremely interesting addition that not only gave the story deeper context but added to the creepiness of the series and showed how much of an effect the symbiote bond can have on the human mind.

Each detailed addition shines through as every member of the creative team has gone above and beyond to make this an outstanding superhero horror.

Final Thoughts

Intense action and amazing power ups make this an exciting and terrifying issue. As a long-time symbiote fan, I highly recommend this series to fans of Venom, Carnage, and the rest.
