Action Comics #1019
Recap

Review
I was a harsh critic when it came to Leviathan. I still think Event Leviathan was drawn out too long just to reveal a character but now it seems not to matter. We learn a lot about Leviathan in a couple of pages. In fact, the first couple of pages were some of my favorite. Bendis and Romita Jr. are such a solid team that I can’t decide if I like action sequences or dialogue sequences better. For Action Comics #1019, I loved the dialogue. Not only is there a lot of it, there are a lot of different speakers. Bendis is an amazing writer. No matter what I think about an issue by him I will always like the writing. It takes skill to have a large group of speakers having a fast paced conversation. Romita Jr.’s art compliment’s Bendis dialogue perfectly. A lot is happening but it reads so smoothly.
Superman and the rest of the Justice League take a back seat in this issue. I am all in favor of this because I am a big fan of seeing the other side of the fight. Luthor has a lot of fight coming and now he has a very powerful ally: Leviathan. Even with all of the build up Leviathan is shrouded in mystery. I am really excited to see what he gets out of all of this. We see a glimpse of what he is working towards when he teleports all of the baddies to Leviathan Island. What and where is this place?
Final Thoughts
Action Comics #1019 picks up on the momentum that the last few issues started. Everything seems to be coming together and I am looking forward to see how it all plays out. If you have been following the series this far then I recommend grabbing a copy at your local comic book shop or where ever you get your comics.
