Review

The new Spider-Man costume’s debut is… well…  I am not so sure about this look.  It looks like he is wearing a mask with a neck gaiter coming out of his sweat shirt.  Admittedly it is not overly sexualized in that it does not appear to be spandex.  I like the idea of the sweatsuit costume with the running shoes, that would be practical but the neck gaiter kind of threw me off.

As usual the art is top notch, with a gritty, realistic appearance that is the usual norm.  Carmen Carnero specializes in drawing many different body types.  The characters have a distinct look and that adds to the realistic quality of the work.

This is the connecting issue between the previous crisis in the Clone Saga and the next crisis that is hinted at on the last page.  This issue highlights Miles’ powers very well, especially his use of his venom blast.  More importantly, it highlights the character traits that make this character so likable and unique,  mainly his willingness to help for the sake of helping.  It does not matter if it is a big battle situation or just helping a child, Miles will put everything to the side simply to help.  It looks like Miles will also have a new love interest, which I am not sure about.  I like romance but is it really necessary to pair up characters romantically?  It looks like Miles has a new significant other in his life and that is known by the next big villain to invade his life.

Final Thoughts

This issue is a show off of Miles’s new suit.  I personally liked the showcase of Miles’s power set and his endearing character.
