Agents of S.L.A.M. TP: …….and NEW!!!!!!!!

This book is pure enjoyment, from start to finish. Author Dave Scheidt creates a world that is so welcoming to the reader, that that’s one of the things that makes it so hard to put this book down after you start reading it. In Agents of SLAM, a group of heroic pro wrestlers are tasked with protecting the world after their promoter becomes President of the United States. They’re forced to go up against a few different villains, but primarily an evil group of professional wrestlers called the World Domination Society. Scheidt shows us this story through the point of view of a young wrestling vlogger, Katie Jones. Katie is a bright, optimistic, young woman who idolizes the wrestlers and her excitement is passed directly to the reader. The story is straightforward, and one of the things that I liked most about it is that there are heroes and villains, there’s no gray area in this world. The story is loaded with action (both regular & wrestling) and adventure and does have a superhero element that’ll please any comic book fan of any age

The art by Scoot McMahon is a real treat. He has a really great animated style that totally lends itself to this book. The detail that he uses is absolutely perfect, just detailed enough, but not overly so. His pages are dynamic and bold and easily convey just exactly what’s going on in the story. While the artwork is enjoyable to everyone, those of us who are wrestling fans will really enjoy the winks and nods that McMahon puts in the book that are based on things that have really happened in pro wrestling. The art wouldn’t be the same without a wonderful job by color artist Heidi Black. They make this book pop and their colors are very engrossing.
