Recap

Max is on the run with a group of survivors after Xenomorphs attack the colony he lives in, claiming many lives, including his mother's. The group is trying to make it to another escape shuttle following the loss of theirs. Making their way through a sandstorm and getting picked off by Xenos, particularly a one-armed Alien that was birthed out of Max's mother! They decide to hole up in a building nearby for the night, surely the Alien monsters will never find them, right? Ha!

Review

Elephant in the room, this issue has come out a ridiculous 4 months after the previous issue, which was delayed 2 months itself, this in no way hampered my enjoyment of this issue, which was fantastic. I adore Hardman’s art style, and a sandstorm is honestly almost as good a hiding place for the Xenos as a dark and gloomy spaceship.

The survivors making their way across a desert in a sandstorm made for some really cool moments and the confusion and closed in angles lent themselves to the feeling of claustrophobia that Alien is known for. There really was a feeling that an alien could be around any corner really cool.

It is a bit funny that the one-armed Xeno birthed from Max’s mom is following him, if every Alien series I’ve ever read is any indication they’ll build the Xeno up like it’s his friend then have it kill him on the last page, we’ll see though, one issue to go, out sometime next year I assume. (joke)

Final Thoughts

A fun series that I highly recommend you read in trade if you haven't picked it up yet, delays aside damn good series.
