Amazing Spider-Man #52
This was not the wisest move he's ever made.
There are comics that sometimes fly under the radar and you regret missing them. But second prints are becoming REALLY popular right now, so don’t be too upset if you miss this one. However, DON’T MISS THIS F’NING COMIC!!!!! Continuing the story that’s been going on for a while (long-form storytelling isn’t dead!) but these five issues-plus of Amazing Spider-Man is the climax of the arc. What impressed me most about this issue is that this is the issue where Spencer throws the kitchen sink into the script. We get A big showdown this issue and I honestly had my jaw hanging open from about the third page on. This is one of the most action-heavy issues I’ve seen in a long time. What’s even better about it is that the way the action that’s depicted as REAL. This fight features so much anger and emotion, that it draws you in and holds onto you with both hands.
Artist Patrick Gleason does an outstanding job this issue. He’s got a lot to do in this issue, and he pulls each one off easily. The emotion that he has to convey is huge, and a lot of that emotion has to be shown through MASKS. His talent is incredible.
I have to admit, I’m still not used to see him drawing stories in the Marvel universe, but I’m really glad he does. I’m really glad that we get a new chapter of this story every week in November. I know you’ll be.
DO NOT let this issue get spoiled for you... the ending of this book will freak you out! Don't deny yourself that experience. This is a fantastic comic with both story and art building throughout the book to a great big last page shocker!!!!! (No, it's not Shocker.)
Amazing Spider-Man #52: Fine…..Everything will be just fine……..
