Recap

Review

Just when you think this book is gonna let you breathe, NOPE! Writer Nick Spencer takes the story in a mostly-new, pretty different direction. I say “mostly new” because there are some plot lines that carry over from the previous story, but it’s a really natural evolution and isn’t forced or dragged out longer than necessary. Peter’s trying to do the right thing, and just like always everything goes great and everything works out fine. Okay, you got me. Everything goes like it always goes for Peter from him trying to help people that eventually get mad at him for wanting to help, to one of his enemies hanging out a little too close to a member of Peter’s family, to a forgotten about super-villain making a surprise return, I’ve never been the biggest Mr. Negative fan, but I do have to give the creative team credit, they’ve made him the closest thing to likable as possible, if not downright sympathetic. One thing that Spencer does here that he does a lot that I absolutely love, is laying the foundation for future storylines. There are a couple of different ones set into motion this issue that I’m particularly looking forward to, and I think the whole of Spider-Man fandom will be right there with me,

The strongest part of this comic is the story, and while the art isn’t bad, artist Marcelo Ferreira just isn’t my cup of tea, He’s fine, but he never once blew me away or made me look twice at his art this issue, He’s got skills when it comes to action sequences, it’s his

‘Talking heads” panels that seem to not live up to their full potential, I just wish those type of panels were a little stronger because honestly, that would make all the difference.

Final Thoughts

I legitimately could give this issue a negative review.....because of Mr. Negative.....but it's really pretty good. You're definitely going to want to grab this one,
