Recap

Review

You know the old saying, “All good things must come to an end,” well, I have a feeling that we’re getting awfully close to an ending cause this book is getting really, really good. This issue is one of those rare occasions where it’s more fun to look at a comic than it is to read the comic. We’ll swing back around to the story in a minute, but holy cow this book looks great!! We’ve got quite a roster of artists this issue and I’m not 100% sure who’s doing what, but the team of Federico Sabbatini, Carlos Gomez, Ze Carlos, and Marcelo Ferreira do an excellent job at making gorgeous art. I would totally be okay with these guys taking on this book on a monthly basis, and maybe they will. They all blend together to make this great, almost animated style that’s more detailed than a cartoon but still has the lush look of an animated feature film. Very high quality from this great team.  And if you’ve been keeping up on your Spider-Man, you know full well that they get to draw just about every single villain in the Spider-Man mythos. It’s very rare and exciting to see so much going on in one comic.

And would we expect anything else from author Nick Spencer? We know that this is story arc is his swan song for the title, and I really couldn’t see him going out any other way. His books are always “busy” but his run on Spidey has been beyond that, with at least four separate stories going on at the same time. Great, great issue that makes me realize just how much I’m gonna miss him when he’s gone.

Final Thoughts

An essential chapter if you're reading Sinister War, but if you're not, don't worry. You can enjoy this book on its own, and it's a very enjoyable, well-done, issue!!
