Review

Wow! This arc really stepped into high gear these last two issues and became something insanely impressive. Normally I despise amnesia stories but I got so excited when Arthur inadvertantly sent out a telepathic distress call and Mera heard it, holy crap so cool! Not to mention Arthur literally rides a dragon how cool is that? Kelly Sue Deconnick has turned full 180 on this arc and that last page has me so excited for next issue!

I absolutely love the old gods feeling ashamed for sending Arthur and Callie instead of going themselves, I wasn’t sure if we were gonna spend much time back in the Village of Unspoken Water, the old gods contained were the most interesting part of the first two issues of this arc. So unsurprisingly they appear to be integral to the conclusion.

The art by Robson Rocha, Daniel Henriques and Sunny Cho is just breathtaking, I seriously just love it on every page. The splash page dragon reveal is seriously some next level stuff I would love a poster of. There are some really interesting things being done with panel layouts as well that are noteworthy.

I do want to note that although the cover art is fine I despise the cover blurbs, they read like bronze age Marvel covers and it doesn’t fit the book at all.

Final Thoughts

This arc has evolved into a can't miss story worthy of far more praise than it's getting. Read it.
