Review
It has been some time since I’ve read an A&A comic, and this one doesn’t disappoint. I don’t have much experience with Foxe’s work, but man is it good! Two pages in and I was laughing hard! This book is seriously funny! I’ve forgotten how humorous Valiant is, and this issue is a great reminder.
Foxe’s dialog is too good, little tiny bits of knee slapping humor, mixed with some amazing action. Just some of the dialog’s lines are so sharp and I love it. The story is a really interesting one too! No spoilers, but something happens and Armstrong believes his time as an immortal is up, however Archer refuses to agree. I really can’t wait to see where this story leads, as I feel like it’s going to send Archer down some paths he shouldn’t go. And as always, A&A have some interesting bad guys, and this issue is no exception. We don’t see much, but let me tell you, this series is going to be a good time.
I wish I could show you some of the art too! While it was uncolored, it was some great line art. I found myself forgetting that this comic isn’t colored. The facial expressions alone make this comic funny. The action is well drawn, and all the art is very crisp and clear. I can’t wait to see the art colored! But even colorless this book is a stand out for sure! I also just want to quickly add, that the covers for this issue are something else, the one with Jesus had me laughing and in awe of it’s beauty.
Final Thoughts
I really want to tell you all more, but I don't want to ruin this issue for you! I really want everyone to go preorder this comic! I mean, I love all Valiant's stuff, but it's so fun to see a lighter side! I missed A&A!
