Review

This is the issue I’ve been asking for for months, at last the vampire war that was teased in issue 10 two months ago has been shown in detail. I really loved seeing the main Avengers team for the first time in a while and it really felt like Aaron went out of his way to give each member a moment to shine. I will say I’m a bit on the fence on Blade’s jokey dialogue, but all in all it was fairly inoffensive. The atmosphere in general is a bit overly goofy given the subject matter, but i laughed once or twice.

I did think it strange that the Avengers have essentially committed themselves to what could be viewed as genocide, albeit genocide of the entire vampire race. That said I really liked moments like T’challa trying to reason with them and Tony telling himself over and over again that they aren’t alive.

The art by David Marquez, Justin Ponzor and Erick Arcienega was excellent with the monsters looking amazing and each team member looking great. The final page which i won’t spoil was just great looking and ties some of the earlier stories into this one in an organic way.

Final Thoughts

A solid issue, if this is the direction the series is going I'm back on board for now.
