Recap

A whole lot of talking that's not very interesting aside from the continuing glimmer of hope, Katana and Black Lightning being besties.

The team prepares to go undercover in a rogue Arabic nation despite the fact they're expected so that should go well right?

Review

So Al Ghul continues his super powered Taliban initiative, putting Sofia Hill through terrorist boot camp in apparently record time. In the same of time between last issue and this one Hill goes from being a suicidal street urchin to a hardened kill with sick sword skills. How and why she goes from zero to stone cold killer so fast isn’t really answered aside from “The Demon” giving some luke-warm speeches that don’t serve much of a real purpose.

Batman and Black Lightning agree to bench Cassie and Duke Thomas for what should be the biggest battle of the group so far because they think Duke still isn’t ready to return to duty. While the reasoning is sound to a degree there’s no meat to it to make this plot point interesting and more seems like they just didn’t have anything good for the pair to do in the events to come.

Kaliber is still around cuz reasons, and the team prepares to dive into a doomed from the start infiltration mission. That part is almost interesting except there’s no dramatic build up and Al Ghul basically says “lolz prepare 2 get #Rekt Batman and Friends!”

Final Thoughts

......don't bother with this book if you have other things you're interested in. The only good things about it are Dexter Soy's art and the tiny interactions between Katana and Black Lightning. Those parts seem like they were edited in from a better book and that's about it.
