Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia #3: A Burning Ring Of Fire

The third issue of the Black Label series featuring the three street-level vigilante is jammed packed with loads of action, explosions, and character development for Oliver, The Question, and even Batman.

Hardman does a solid job in this penultimate issue bringing the three together after the previous issues of them working the same case from different angles. The scene where Oliver and Batman come to blows feels genuine as Oliver’s temper comes boiling to the surface and Batman reveals that he knew the Arcadia project was never going go work, even though in theory and he was playing the role he did because the end does justify the means, and things never added up in the end.

It was a nice touch for both Batman and Question to confront Oliver about his broken relationship with Dinah and allowing Hardman a chance to remind the readers of the time period in the character’s history that this story takes place. Each of the three characters get an almost equal time in the story as solo characters allowing Hardman to show his grasp on how these three are both  different and the same.

Hardman continues to channel the edgy art and designs of this period as Romulo Fajardo Jr adds his colorwork to  complete the overall feel of the story.
