Review

Horror as a genre is many different things. Uneasy, comforting, scary, fun, etc. Its tropes are second to none and are responsible for some of the greatest pop-culture icons across the globe. We’ve seen killers take all forms and shapes in the genre’s history. The genre is rich with some of the greatest movies and books, and while many have taken a stab at coming up with the next big thing or “re-telling” of a classic. The wall they tend to hit is due to a lack of originality. Well, Patrick Horvath and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou have crafted something so creepy and exhilarating that you’ll never look at a stuffed animal or a cartoon the same way again.

Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees is a master class of psychological horror. Imagine if James Wan did an episode of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood! I’m of the theory that good horror takes you out of your comfort zone and tests your limits. Good horror will have you feeling empathy for the killer. Beneath The Trees Where Nobody See does all of that and then some!

As the tale begins, you are put on edge with crippling anticipation. This is where Mr. Horvath shines like the sun hanging over Haddonfield. He has conjured a slow burn of a story that leads you with an unnerving calmness and manifests chills on the back of your neck that radiate to the pit of your stomach. Hassan Otsmane-Elhao narrates this terrifically horrifying story while providing the blood-soaked bow to wrap this story up like a gift from Shudder. Beneath The Tree Where Nobody Sees is a horror series that cannot be missed!

Final Thoughts

Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees takes everything you know about cute animals and suburbia and twists them into a bloody mess, and it’s awesome.
