Review

Blade is back! In Blade #1, this fang-tastic team delivers a great first issue for readers returning to Blade’s mystical and mysterious world. Hill takes Blade on this dangerous journey of protecting this young woman named Dana. He isn’t a stranger to aiding those in need as they are hunted for strange circumstances.

As he quickly finds the woman in need, he is met by a foe that seems otherworldly in their conquest of slaying the distraught and scared woman. The artistic duo of Casagrande and Bellaire can showcase and demonstrate Blade’s skills as he fights off this dangerous foe.

Blade, unfortunately, discovers that this whole situation of saving this woman is a trap, and he mistakenly kills someone who is meant to prevent the end of the world. Dana reveals in a shocking twist that she is an immortal being, Adana, and is ready to bring the end of this current world for one in her image. With absolute ease, this brand-new villain makes a strong impression on the audience as she instantly defeats Blade. Soon after, a young adventurer named Rotha discovers Blade, who is in a bind and greets him with an offer to defeat Adana to save all creation.

Casagrande sweeps the floor and brings an excellent take on creating the artwork for this issue. Bellaire uses color to create a breathtaking vision of this eerie and riveting world. The scene of Adana revealing her proper form is jaw-dropping and incredibly memorable. Sabino captivates the dialogue through great styles of lettering throughout this issue.
