Briar #4 Adra Adrata Adracta!

The fourth installment of this supernatural tale of Briar continues to explore the horrific world created in Briar Rose’s slumber. The creative team starts the issue by showing the prophecy the witches foretold that’ll bring the world into chaos. Briar is enveloped by the haunting words of her Godmother while unconscious, while her two newly found friends carry on to find her. 

After discovering her and rescuing her, the Witch Roop attempts to resurrect an old fallen hero in a last hope to aid them in their journey. Soon after, Spider and Roop are nearly slain in a shocking ambush from the man who refuses to stop his conquest for Briar. Cantwell then delivers a phenomenal scene of Roop’s resurrection, in fact working, bringing back the old hero Captain Bly. With his support, Briar sends a message to her Godmother that she will come after her. In preparation for what is to come for the fearless group, Cantwell has the group beginning to embark on their journey to eliminate Briar Rose’s Godmother. 

Garcia and Lopes create an eerie and fearful world that GrenDrid has crafted. These two are a fantastic duo that masterfully builds frightening surroundings for Briar Rose to explore as she discovers what has been lost in her sleep. It’s not easy to establish a new perception of an old fairytale, yet Garcia and Lopes flourish in their skill to shape a fresh modern twist. AndWorld Design carries the words of Cantwell and has a creative eye for using lettering to create a horror tale.
