Recap

Baby Cable or as we like to call him at Comic Watch Bable (baby + Cable = Bable). Goes searching for a stolen baby. We get older Cable in another place, another time in what looks almost like a scene out of Star Wars.

Review

I enjoyed the opening story. A young couple arguing about moving to Krakoa. Also a reminder the last time mutantville moved to an island it didn’t work so well for mutantkind.

I always like to know how old characters are. As we know characters never age, and sometimes get older and reverted back to a teen who knows in the comic world. Duggan did a good job of avoiding giving a number by giving a smart-ass comment which is very ‘Bable’ like. I don’t like that we didn’t get a number, however, it was smart writing to bring it up, yet avoid it at the same time while adding personality to the character.

This issue is really setting up what appears to be a big story coming up. I did enjoy Cable in the other world, or wherever he is. I would like a book just on that alone. As long as Noto is on it, I am here for it.

Young Cable is dating all the Cuckoos, Emma sends Scott a stern warning. I am not sure how I feel about it. It does feel like Krakoa is one big orgy. The dynamics of all the relationships in Krakoa seem to come from some horny teenager fantasies, rather than substance in relationships and different dynamics. However, the whole concept is interesting and different which is what comics are meant to be. As far as Cable and the Cuckoos it makes sense because they are hived minded. I think Duggan did a really nice job of bringing each of their personalities out, and showing the different reactions.

Noto is on art, there really is nothing to say accept O.M.G. I love his art. It’s so clean and smooth, even shiny. Even when you read it on digital print, you can almost feel the page. It’s so awesome. If nothing else check out the book for the art.

Final Thoughts

Cable takes a personal interest in a stolen baby, as an older Cable possibly walks into a trap. Smart writing and gorgeous art.
