Recap

When I think of a Catwoman story, many ideas pop into mind. A heist, some expensive jewelry, a whip, and some butt-kicking. Although that is mostly true for the current story, there is an added element that I never thought I would read in Catwoman; Zombies! That is right the big bad Mrs. Creel has created a serum that turns humans into zombies.

Review

Let me start off by saying that zombies may be an unexpected surprise in this series, but it is a welcome story. I will admit I may have missed an issue or two. I believe my actual response when I caught up on the story was “Oh, did not see that coming.”

I mentioned that I may have missed an issue or so, but I don’t feel like I missed anything. I feel this run is a little more spaced out than I would like. As a reviewer, we always have to look for the good, the bad and the in-between. As far as perfection, this is a close book if I ever saw one. The story has my interest, I love seeing Catwoman take the heads off of zombies and just punching her way through the crowd to end it. I enjoy seeing Selina so family oriented which is something I don’t believe we have seen before. I love the homage to Alfred.

The art as always is outstanding. The overall impression of the book is really well done. I believe they have found the winning ingredients to make this run really pop when fans think back to great Catwoman storylines, I believe this one will be mentioned.

Final Thoughts

With Joelle Jones and Fernando Blanco on Catwoman, they are the new standard for a Catwoman book.
