Recap

Catwoman doesn't need her white knight in this adventure. Selina heads to Isla Nevada where she is warned it's not safe. Nothing stops Cat. During the visit, we learn the urban legend Kisin (God of Death) may not be a myth after all. Selina teaches a young pic-pocketer a lesson or two that may have her on the wrong side of the litter box.

Review

There is a lot to like about this issue. I believe my favorite is the ’80s Miami Vice rip-off named SnowFlame who loves his blow. What can go wrong with him, right?

I enjoyed the back and forth between Selina and Tambra. In the two page conversation, they hit a lot of topics. Calling people who follow blindly and believing a leader just because they said it, is a cult. This could have been political, or calling out comic gate supporters, or just a tongue and cheek back and forth. Whatever the creative team intended for it, I am here for it.

I enjoyed the retro black and grey outfit. The art is stunning, the amount of detail in the background took a lot of work, a ton of attention to every single detail. Background and detail work is probably the best I have seen in a while, at least that called out to me like this one.

I am excited about this arc, I like that it took us away from Gotham kind of out of the current Batman run. It’s writing at it’s best, art is a lot of fun. I am in for this.

Final Thoughts

Catwoman on a new adventure shows a lot of potential. There are a lot at play, a few stories going on at the same time. I am here for it, let's see what this team can bring.
