What You Need to Know:
Matt Murdock has assumed the Mayor’s office of New York City. This after Wilson Fisk was attacked and shot by many arrows from the Hand. Foggy Nelson has become his chief of staff after Matt let Wesley, Wilson’s right-hand man go.

Disheveled, yet determined Wilson Fisk appears in the Mayor’s Office. Still wearing his Hospital gown and dragging behind him his IV Fluids. He tells Mr. Foggy Nelson that he is still the Mayor and that this is his city. Foggy does his best to diffuse the situation. He does his best to placate Fisk, but all the excitement he locks up and falls to the floor with a Thud! He is going back to the hospital, and not taking back the office…just yet.

Meanwhile, Daredevil and Father Jordan with the remaining Order of the Dragon Knights are trapped in a storeroom and surrounded by The Hand! As they contemplate strategy, Daredevil Tells them that he has used his Radar senses to find them a chance to survive. They know that they can never make it on foot, but several blocks away they find a stable of Horses.

They burst through the enemy’s Flank and turn the tide of battle. Headed toward the center of their enemy lines and towards the Beast himself!

What You’ll Find Out: The is Green Mist, stands outside City Hall. He is waiting for Sam (Blindspot) who is hidden inside. “This Can all be over”, he says,” Give me Samuel Chung.”

Blindspot then admits his secret identity to the Police Commissioner Karnik and tells her that he is the one that The Best is looking for. She is not going to hand Sam over, especially since he defeated that ” Cop killing piece of garbage.” The Muse. They reject The offer from the Beast and Natalia Karnik says ” You want him, come get him!”.

The Best attacks and the Police and Blindspot hold their own, and then the cavalry arrives. A literal cavalry, including the Order of the Dragon and Daredevil.

What Just Happened?
Daredevil to the rescue, while swinging a mighty sword. We haven’t seen a bravado like this since he fought a Vacuum in Inferno ( Daredevil #262 January 1989).

With the heroes by his side ( Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Spider-Man, Blindspot, Moon Knight and even Elektra) The Order of the Dragon make their push for Victory on the steps of City Hall. Daredevil corners the Beast and sinks the sword deep into his gullet!

Daredevil says to Father Jordan,” I don’t understand what happened, Father Jordan…Was it the sword? Is there something special about the sword?”

With the Battle over, Matt keeps his word to Elektra and tells her the name of the one that controlled her mind. His name was Zebediah Killgrave (The Purple man). That bit of business settled, the next logical move is for Sam to join with the Order of the Dragon. They decide this is the best place to keep the Hand away from New York, and he was quite capable of fighting alongside his soon to be brothers of the Order. Then with that, the cleanup begins, and the hand and the order of the Dragon depart.

One week later, we see the return of Wilson Fisk to the mayor’s office. This time looking a lot better than he did before. Matt and Wilson argue a bit, but Matt decides it’s far better to spare the city any undue stress by relinquishing the office back to Wilson; however on one condition. That Fisk ends his Anti-Vigilante Crusade. Fisk agrees, and Matt both abdicates the Mayor’s seat and quits the position of Deputy Mayor. In True fashion Fisk and Wesley plot as Murdock and Nelson leave earshot, and they let it slip that they rigged the election. Matt is almost floored by this admission of guilt, and he tells Mr. Foggy Nelson that it looks like they are in for a fight!

Final Thought:

Well, it was a fun ride while it lasted. Kingpin out of the picture, left Matt Murdock holding the reigns of the Biggest City of the world, and you know he did a decent job of it for a while. You know considering he save a ton of lives from the Evil clan of Ninjas in the Hand. Not too Shabby, and Foggy came through as per usual, showing that he has the stuff that makes him just as good as Matt, but without the power set. The Steven the Intern part was fun. A character that is mired in rules and policy so much, that actually made the difference. A great foil for Wilson Fisk, bureaucracy. While I always knew this chapter would come to an end, I almost wish it had gone on longer. I miss the Courtroom/ Superhero dynamic, but I think that the Mayor’s office leads itself mythos just as well. Watch Out Purple Man, because Elektra is on your tail, that and Sam getting in with the Order of the Dragon, I feel this will all lead to some excellent stories down the road.
