Hey kids, time for a field trip! Journey to the strange land of magical Colorado as our intrepid team of heroes searches for a way to shatter the dome and expose the truth behind THE EVENT!! Also: Man, how about that last issue, right? Crazy.

Review

Crossover #4 has landed and most fans of this new ongoing will still have that massive reveal of Madman at the end of issue #3 fresh in their minds when anticipating this next issue. Now whilst Donny and the team could have given us a cooldown issue with this entry, its anything but, with probably my personal favourite reveal of the series so far!

The pacing Donny Cates has managed so  with this issue has to be adored, whilst we address the team coming to terms with just meeting not only Doctor Blaqk, The Paybacks but now also Madman the panels and dialogue pay the perfect amount to opening the scene and transition the readers onto the next act with the full cast hatching a plan to get inside the near impenetrable dome!

A nice touch is also how the creative team takes a page out to give a bit of lore and rules behind the portal between both universes/realities.

The construction of the arc is really solidifying now from the team, the showcase of the subplots with Ryans task nearly revealed. Also a segment with Father Lowe who still will have his next major role to play in the next issue is my guess!

Near the end of the issue we follow the team to the location of the national event memorial and museum center that holds artifacts recovered from the Crossover. Madman explains while most of the artifacts are fake that there is one to help them on their quest. Its here I have to credit how brilliant Geoff Shaw and Dee Cunniffe work together with their art, going panel to panel, page to page through this museum isnjust filled with Comic Easter eggs and action panels involving Madman which will have any fan geeking out for.

The moment of discovery comes and the introduction of an elderly woman and the moment the name drops I myself realized who it was and what I was about to see in this issue and a smile came on my face. Her name Deanna Quinlan, her grandfather Emmett and the artifact is Valofax.

This reveal had me ecstatic over the next issue, I have expressed my love for God Country before which these characters and sword is from and I urge everyone to go and read it.

Final Thoughts

Another incredible issue from this superstar creative team! Every installment is a pleasure for comic fans universally!
