Review

After an explosive first issue I was glad to see that Taylor has not slowed down the pace at all in this installment. As I stated before Tom is building an exceptional world and concept with DCeased and I was eager to see and plunge into the side characters he was building and thankfully that is how this chapter commences with the Shadowpact.

The boasting team of Constantine, Zatanna, Detective Chimp, Blue Devil, Red Hood, Ragdoll and Rose Wilson eventually accompanied by Swamp Thing within this tale is a thrill to see in action and their quips among one another is dialogue at its best in my opinion and some of the best I’ve read this year so far.  It is not often either we see the momentum from the first issue not only carried on to this issue but within another set of characters and side story that takes the upmost skill in a book like this full credit to Tom Taylor!

The team fends off infected whilst trying to save as many survivors as possible and during their latest quest Swamp Thing intervenes to express about another Garden safe-structure other than Ivy’s located in Australia that he entices the pact to accompany him to with survivors that need saving.

During this we see the League seeking Ivy’s garden for aid for Jon and a standoff as Diana tries to bring along an infected Oliver against Ivy’s wishes in this moment they explain to Ivy and Harley about the possible cure. In these pages the book captures captivating, powerful scenes of remorse in the characters.

Another nice payoff to fans of the series and Bat-family fans is seeing Damian reunite with Jason and Cass in touching moments before we see an intriguing embrace between him and Cassie after her loss.

Finally comes the close of the second installment with another gripping ending with the seemingly demise of the Shadowpact as they confront the evil surrounding the Australian bunker they are shockingly struck down by an infected plastic-man whilst three shrouded figures look on. Now questioning: Was it a set up?

Final Thoughts

This is a must on every DC fan's pull list! The action and gruesome scenes are some of the best you will see in any comic nowadays. An addicting read that has fans wanting more every time.
