Recap

STORMBREAKER Peach Momoko has been breaking barriers not with just her storytelling but with the retelling of Japanese Folklore with the heroes of X- MEN. These stories give such a wonderful moment for not just comic book adventurers but now even for manga enthusiastic. With each turn of the page, we are able to see how far we are going with these stories. And Peach Momoko keeps on delivering with each turn of her page.

Review

Demon Days Mariko follows the story of Mariko and how she is slowly hearing voices and nightmares of an Oni who continues to call for her, along with the stories of Oni child and Blue Priest, all while we are still struck by the beauty of Demon Days art style, the water painting-esque feel of each page. I would frame each one of the pages of this if given the chance.

The story fits perfectly with the art style and of course when we dive deeper we slowly see that each character is introduced in a unique way. Alias are slowly being revealed throughout this comic, and it’s such a wonderful companion with the art style.

And while the song in the beginning is now stuck in my head, I can see how each moment is very important for the reader to understand. I am going to constantly be a broken record when it comes to Peach Momoko artwork during my reviews of their comic series. But the story does compel you to think of what will happen next, the ending was thrilling to see as a new character is introduced and the hints of who this person will be well, I’ll keep it hush-hush in case you want this surprise for yourself.

Everything about this story is giving the vibes that this will be one that everyone will remember and talk about. The pages will give you this beautiful rendition of mutants and these characters will give you another reason to love them even more.

If Demon Days: X-Men didn’t hook then Demon Days Mariko will surely give you another reason to give this story a chance!

Final Thoughts

The beauty of Peach Momoko Demon Days comic is what will pull you in and cause you to continue to want even more. This is one comic series you do not want to miss. I will be a long-time fan of Peach Momoko and her comics now and this coming from someone that ventures inch by inch into the comic world, and with this introduction, I'm proud to say that I'll be here to stay.

Peach Momoko's next comic will be coming out in September called Demon Days: Cursed Web #1 and once you see the cover you will be over the MOON over who is on it.
