DINODOGZ: An Eggzellent K-9 Adventure

I’ve reviewed a lot of things for Comic Watch, but nothing as unique as what we are about to talk about in this review. We are going to talk about a kid’s book, and I couldn’t be happier to review it! DinoDogz is a unique take on teamwork and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Now, I totally understand that kids’ books lean toward a niche audience, and rightly so. However, when I was approached to review DinoDogz, I automatically jumped at the chance to do so. One, because Comic Watch loves small press, and two, I’ve never reviewed a kids’ book! I read them to my daughter on a daily basis but never thought of them as review material. Until now, and I’m glad I did!

This book is an absolutely unique adventure that no one has thought of and should not work, but it does! Not since Stray Dogs have I read something that was such a stretch, but it made sense, and more importantly, it was entertaining. This isn’t going to read like a normal review, and I don’t want it to. It’s not a comic; it’s not done by the latest hot writer or artist; it’s not published by Marvel, DC, Image, etc. But what it lacks in that popular advertising trope, it more than makes up for in its imagination, creativity, and passion. My daughter and I have read this book a few times, and she loves it; as the pages turn, her laugh becomes more infectious. 

The art is super fun and cartoonish. The names of the dogs as they turn into dinosaurs are pure fun, just writing this review, I’m laughing at the different skirmishes that our heroes encounter. This book is an absolutely fun read that you can share with your kids and just be silly.
