Recap

We are starting to see Superhero Dr. Strange and Surgeon Dr. Strange begin to blend a little bit. This issue is a mixture of supernatural versus Grey’s Anatomy. We see something strange in this issue (pun intended), we see Strange asking for help. We also see he is overbooked trying to make everything work. He needs a drink or two, to say the least.

Review

I am a new reader to Dr. Strange, I don’t have a lot of history, I don’t know too much about Anthony Ludgate. I did appreciate taking a small glimpse into who he is. I also enjoy seeing Strange not knowing if he is going to be a good guy or a bad guy. I enjoy it because we are also feeling the same, is he going to be a good guy or be the big bad in this story.

Do I smell a romance between Regina and Stephen? It’s possible I would like to see where that goes. Creatively this could create several storyline possibilities. It is a strong possibility I also watch too much Grey’s and expect that type of drama in any hospital setting.

Waid appears to understand the character. I feel connected so Stephen. Usually, it takes me a while to get used to a character or feel bonded to them. I like where the story is going. I am led to believe that it could go in several directions which for a reader is a good thing, it keeps me wanting to read to see where it does end up.
The art does well with the story. It Tartaglia and Fabela do well with the coloring it fits perfectly with the story. I will say at first the art took me a minute to see the appeal. Once I saw it had a horror movie feel to it, I connected to the art. It’s one of my favorite parts of the series currently.

I am enjoying this series; I am interested to see where it ends up going. The ongoing series feels fresh with new ideas. I am really interested in hearing what long time readers of Strange feel about the current series. Please feel free to comment below.

Final Thoughts

A great starting point for new fans, and for old fans, this seems to be a fresh take with new adventures for Dr. Strange.
