Ghost Rider/Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance Omega #1: The End

The explosive and terrifying Ghost Rider and Wolverine crossover comes to a close with Ghost Rider/Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance Omega #1. The crossover spanned four issues starting in Ghost Rider/Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance Alpha #1 and then trailing into Ghost Rider #17, Wolverine #36, and concluding here. The event is full of fun ideas and gives readers exactly what they’d want out of a Ghost Rider and Wolverine series. Benjamin Percy has put in a lot of work writing both standalone series, so it was only a matter of time before there was a proper crossover. 

With Ghost Rider/Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance Omega, there is a natural conclusion to the conflict and closure for both protagonists, but Percy is smart to leave things a little open. The series jumps between the past and the present and even dips its toes into Wolverine’s past with the inclusion of the Weapons Program, so it makes sense if there is a return of the demon Bagra-Ghul and Father Pike. As a whole, the event’s sequencing felt a little confusing for readers who are just reading Ghost Rider or Wolverine or even readers who only picked up Weapons of Vengeance Alpha and Omega. There seems to be a chunk of story missing between Omega and Wolverine #36. The event could have benefited from a few more issues so some concepts could be fully explored, especially Hellverine. Geoff Shaw and Rain Beredo knocked it out of the park with the art and coloring. Shaw’s style is perfect for both characters and does an excellent job translating Percy’s script.
