Golden Rage #4: Betrayal not Forgotten

Most of these women trapped on this island have been here for a long time, and to them, this is all they know now. A strong community of women is what helps them survive. For most, these women are family, and they are loyal to a fault. They are all each other has. That’s why betrayal is such a massive problem.

Did Jay betray the women of the island? We know there’s something she isn’t telling us, but we are still determining what her intentions are. The only non-violent way to get what you need from someone holding something back is through the clowns. The clowns help us reveal what our true feelings are through any performance. The same performance displayed to eight women can mean different things to each woman.

As far as this book goes, I was on the edge of my seat the entire book. Thrilling and daunting. The plotline is profound and meaningful. How will the ladies escape whatever trouble Jay has brought them?

Enlightenment and respect. Chrissy Williams brought enlightenment and respect to a world of women forgotten. Enjoying this collection as a woman in the professional world is cathartic. In many ways, being a woman in today’s society is better than ever in history, and in others, we still have a long way to go. I love that this series shows whether you’re white, Hispanic, black, or any other race – YOU’RE A WOMAN—a woman thrown away and scorned. Our fight stands a better chance when we are united together.

Chrissy Williams and her team show that being a woman isn’t always pretty, and the older you get, the less valued you are. We are deemed useless. Grandmothers are only helpful for sitting around watching the idiot box or brewing tea. This world of survival is a parallel metaphor for how our current society deals with women.

The comic is vibrant with color and emotion, and Ms. Lauren Knight did all the beautiful artwork. The world these two ladies have created is dark and sometimes bloody, but it can be full of love and hope. That’s what I appreciate about this team. The Golden Rage series is a beacon for women to remind us we can be compassionate and kind and fierce and ruthless, all when necessary.
