Recap

Review

What makes humans tick? That is a question asked quite frequently in pop culture. Whether in comics, movies, tv shows, etc. Human beings as a species in the comic book world are young, arrogant, hot-headed, and emotional. But, we also are compassionate and caring, loving creatures.

Worldmind is discovering this with Peter Quill. Or so she thought. Of course, The Guardians of the Galaxy, the family that they are, half to interfere in Quill’s interview. Each Guardian gives Worldmind their perspective on Terrans. Unique and rather humorous what they see Terrans’ behavior, based on Quill. However, he has won them by being brave, kind, and caring.

Quill doesn’t get much chance to interview because they are battling a giant hand with a stone that can power the Guardian’s ship. Worldmind has to return later, but can she know Terrans with half the information from non-Terrans?

This book is fun and wholesome, and for a comic that doubles as an advertisement for the new GOTG Cosmic Rewind ride at Disney World, inoffensively light and frothy. Right up the alley of the Guardians of the Galaxy, nothing too serious, bloody, or crazy. Just wholesome and fun. Writer Kevin Shinick did an excellent job with this book. It’s fun and full of lighthearted humor. A wonderful comic, for sure. And the brightness in Gerardo Sandoval’s artwork made it pop. The Guardians of the Galaxy comics all have bright purple, greens, and blues, all showing that the universe isn’t dreary or morbid like most Terrans believe.

Final Thoughts

Lighthearted and fun, I will be looking forward to the next issue. I liked this adventure, and the Guardians of the Galaxy will have something as simple and solvable in the next one. Good job team, making room on my shelf for more of this series.
