Review

Hexagon Bridge #4 puts readers deeper into a dimension that is dreamlike and moody. It’s a reminder of the beauty of adventures beyond, threats of the unknown, and a strong penultimate issue to this independent series.

It’s not often the words “grand” and “personal” fit together, but the series Hexagon Bridge very much weaves those two themes into a story that is incredibly imaginative.

Writer/artist Richard Blake continues to the journey of Staden (the A.I. robot tasked with a rescue mission) as he traverses a world that feels familiar and full of potential to be explored—like a dream you don’t aren’t ready to wake up from.

In a change of tone, this issue has an explosive set piece and establishes more rules in the new world. The writing continues its surgical style with words and plot points being used rarely and effectively.

As always, the art from this issue demands readers pause to soak in the wonder and intricacies and this continues to shine as a standard in this medium.

Final Thoughts

Followers of this series will be left eager to know what will happen next—especially given the ending. For those who haven’t given this series an opportunity, with only one issue left, it’s a great time to catch up and see why this series is great.
