Recap

Tasked with smuggling the savior of humanity through thousands of miles of religious cults, mutant tribes, war zones, sunken cities, and cybernetic mafias, the woman known only as Thirteen does what any sane person would: try to get out of doing it. But the mystery of High Level calls whether Thirteen likes it or not.

Review

This issue was a somewhat predictable, but still very entertaining advancement of the plot set up in issue #1. Though, it seems to be building to something big.

This issue featured some great world building; with Thirteen showing Minnow around Ordell Faire before they head off on their journey to High Level. We get some great development from both Thirteen and Minnow as Thirteen walks Minnow through her day to day life and introduces her to some of the people of Onida Faire.

The art for this issue was still outstanding, as in the first issue, but at points felt somewhat rushed. While there were multiple breathtaking scenes, such as the drone swarm over Oneida, a few of the more conversational pages felt like they weren’t quite up to par with issue #1 or even with other pages in this issue.

Overall, this issue was still a great read but in some ways it felt like a bit of a step down from issue #1.

Final Thoughts

This issue was a very enjoyable read but not quite on the same level as issue #1 in terms of story and art.
