Review
Upon opening this issue I quickly realised I was in for a more serious tone than expected. Shalvey makes this evident with the bold writing from as early as the first page! Whilst keeping the familiarity of the Immortal Hulk saga with ruthless characteristics of Hulk in action scenes, Shalvey endeavours into an unprecedented horror scenario for his short tale to tell.
I am keeping this spoiler free but when you have read it for yourself you will understand the underlying tones I speak of, it may be risky but undoubtedly pays off, this is an incredible single issue.
I always recommend issues like this to not just the bigger fans of the character but also any comic reader for its uniqueness, a round table of readers could deep dive into this issue and have hours of talking points!
Heaps of praise to Declan Shalvey, his reputation precedes him with this book complimenting why he is one of the most talked about in the business! I will always be astounded by a comic creator that takes on all roles of story, art, colors and even the cover! To not only write an outstanding story but match that with the superb artwork is amazing!
Final Thoughts
A unique take and must have issue for all fans of The Hulk and Ewings run. Declan Shalvey has produced a deep installment into this Hulk series that should not be missed!
