Review

While issue #1 ebbed and flowed with heavy action and exposition, #2 starts off bloody and promises to end even bloodier. Moore pulls out the stops and just let the Ninja madness rip with this one. Whether it’s Ninja-F wiping out all the local scumbags in an one sided barroom brawl or Ninja-G slicing and dicing her way through overzealous cops who accidentally bite off more than they can chew, Killers #2 absolutely delivers all the insanity you would expect from a ninjutsu filled free-for-all that literally spans the globe.

To add icing to the lethal cake, Dagnino kills every page. From capturing the dank, grim of a Shanghai jail cell to Ninja-G mercilessly slicing off limbs like it’s going outta style, every single page is a visual treat. The energetic art and entertaining dialogue is an awesome combo that keeps you drawn in from the first page all the to the last in one of the best stand offs of 2019. If this is how well Moore steps his game up from one issue to the next it’s hard to imagine #3 onward won’t leave you begging for more and bemoaning the wait between issues.

Final Thoughts

Bottom line when you pick up a book called Killers about super powered ninjas....this is exactly what you want. It manages to stay action oriented and sprinkle some comedy throughout without becoming meme material or cheapening the weight of the challenge these characters are facing. All around just a superbly done follow up to an opening issue that shown some promise but didn't quite grab the reader as completely as this one did.
