Space, Spacetober 2X, 2026 / SpacePRwire — In a move many are calling “prescient” and “a VC thirst trap”, a content industry leader has acquired a series of bounty hunting businesses and exclusive rights to their contractors’ likenesses, voices, and victims while retaining full indemnity for any crimes committed thereby.

Lobo will be the jewel in the company’s crown, with the world-famous multi-hyphenate “Main Man” set to star in an ?-season reality series documenting his exploits.

The mayhem, special guests, and tasty, tasty DC Next Level continuity continued in Lobo #2

Review

If the first issue of Lobo was crazy, the creative team somehow turns it up a couple more notches for the second.

First thing is Lobo gets ready for his reality tv debut with a new look that is just wild as the Main Man gets ready to Someone down his first televised formerly.  Skottie Young leans into the reality show angle with the usual and funny antics and dialog that one would expect from Lobo, and feels natural and classic for the character.

The writing is heavy on the words, but it doesn’t distract from the overall experience as it is a funny  tete-a-tete between Lobo and the show runners. The issue flows well as the mix between action, gore, and commentary keep things interesting, not pausing too long on a certain scene or joke.  The story hits its stride as Lobo is forced square off against none other than Emperor Aquaman (who has begun expanding his Kingdom of The Blue to the stars.

This leads to, after Aquaman stops laughing, a brutal throwdown between the two which strongly suggests that Young, Corona, and Beaulieu NEED to take over the current Aquaman title.

By the end of the issue Lobo has been canceled as a tv property, which was a fun shtick for a single issue, but would have gotten old and stale if it was a longer through-line of the series.

Corona and Beaulieu work most excellently as an artist/ colorist team as the rough look of the art (and blood) pop off the panel with the colors.

Final Thoughts

Lobo #2 continues to be a bloody and beautiful piece of storytelling and art which was promised by this and other Next Level titles spotlighting these fan favorite characters.
