Recap

The Eisner-nominated creative team that brought you a fantastic parable of adolescence in the Midwest, the story of an artist who embraces darkness a little too closely, and the tale of a gunslinger with too much grit to stay buried brings you a classic yarn spun in the star-kissed threads of the cosmic DC Universe.

Comic Watch Reviews:

Show business and Lobo had concussive creative differences, so he and Dawg are back to bounty hunting

Following his run in with Supergirl (which he won )Lobo’s looking for an opportunity to get in even better shape

Lobo is officially recertified for bounty hunting, but his first job back got him into a fight with Supergirl!

He, of course, handily won, and we have to assume Supergirl has since retired.

Anyway, Lobo and Dawg are leaving Earth before they embarrass anyone else, and Lobo's looking for an opportunity to get in even better shape...

Review

Following the perfunctory one-issue crossover to create synergy for the Summer Of Supergirl, The Main Man is back to doing what he does best…causing havoc and chaos across the galaxy.

The issue continues the tete-a- tete with the Reality TV Exec continuing the threads from the first few issues of the series. Young continues to keep things interesting with some strange and out-there characters fans have come to expect from Lobo’s interactions as he continues his outlandish adventures.

Young continues to put The Main Man through his paces after he discovers he has a bounty on his head. The stakes are upped as the TV Exec looks to clear the bloodsoaked air and offers Lobo a job that has some teeth. Channeling what looks to be an unofficial crossover with the concepts of I Hate Fairyland, the seeds for the next few issues as hr sets his gunsona twisted version of The Tooth Fairy

The creative team as a whole continues to fire on all cylinders creatively giving this title the feel and voice of the 90s series. It should be interesting to see how long this title can sustain momentum given that in the past Lobo seems to be one of those characters that start strong and then loses steam because of a creative change or readers get tired of the similar thing over and over.

That is not to say that this series is there,  but given how fickle some readers are, it’ll would not surprise if it happened to this title which continues to be a standout of the Next Level experiment.
