Lucifer #18: Odin in Da House

This arc of Lucifer has been quite enjoyable. This is mainly because of the pairing of Lucifer and Beverly. The plot is quite simple: The Wind Hunt has returned, Beverly is the Hunted God, and Lucifer must protect her. Seeing the impossibly cool Lucifer sit with Beverly, who has a jacket over her head to hide the giant antlers, gave me a much needed laugh. Beverly looks like she makes the best cookies or brownies; we all know a sweet old lady like that. Knowing she has Odin and the other hunters coming after her is such a strange picture. Only Lucifer stands in the way, but why?

This raises the question of whether Lucifer seems genuine or not. He went through all of the trouble of building and testing the house to protect Beverly, so it seems like Lucifer is over his “finish the hunt” phase. By destroying what the Wild Hunt stood for, Lucifer is now a major component of the hunt. Before there was overkill by Lucifer, but now it is the opposite. Why is Odin being so shady about all of this. It is interesting that Odin tells Beverly the history of Lucifer and the Wild Hunt. Both Lucifer and Beverly, the Hunted God, are a far cry from who they were in Odin’s story. Is Odin after Beverly of Lucifer, because he could take down Beverly right now. Why does he want to go into the house?
