Review
With Marauders #11, Orlando brings readers another fun installment into this series. I continue to become blown away by how Orlando has Tempo becoming a more and more integral member and important person to those on Krakoa. She has been a character that has been incredibly long overlooked, and seeing her shine makes my heart warm. Kate keeps showing her growth and how incredibly resourceful she is in response to issues that would have most people stumped. I really love her explanations regarding how tricky time can be and how easily it can be shaped. Time has to be one of the most complicated concepts in comics, and Tempo has been helping us out.
Regarding art, let’s talk about my favorite part of this issue right off the bat. Well, Fang swinging a bat around was fun, but the pink jacket and look that Psylocke had! Some of those panels of her alone made me wish we could’ve seen her in that jacket more in that issue. Carlini has a fun style that I will continue to like to see.
The colors in the issue add a nice touch, especially with the effects of Lockheed’s fire breath. Milla also does an excellent job with the shiny colors that resonate with Tempo. I also appreciated the quick color detail and Aurora dashing into the scene.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this issue is a great kickstart to a new story arc. I’m curious to see what the team ends up bringing in the next issue of this. Can we also talk about how adorable it is that Lockheed gets their own character highlight bubble along with the team?
